10 tips to a perfect polish!

-are you tired of always messing up your manicure?

-do you struggle with polishing your nails even one solid color?

-are you sick of polish always on your skin?

Intoday’s blog I’ll share 10 tips to help you achieve better looking nails at home!

1.  Start with fresh prepped clean nails, push your cuticles back to expose more nail for a bigger canvas to begin with.

2. Wash your hands to remove any oil or dirt from your nails. Rinse the last few seconds in cool water, I get less air bubbles this way.

3. Using a cotton free pad & rubbing alcohol remove any leftover oils or dirt on nails!  I noticed this step helps the polish last longer.

4. Basecoat, basecoat, basecoat. Nothing works without a solid foundation. (This also helps the staining of nails when you’re using a darker color)

5. Before application don’t forget to remove excess polish from your brush,  the coats will be more even, dry faster and you’ll have more control. 

6. Try your best to polish your nails in 3 strokes. Start in the middle of the nail with a wide stroke then fill in the sides & don’t forget to cap your edges (this really seals the deal, and prevents your polish from chipping as quickly)

7. Do a second coat if needed to make the color fully opaque. Using the three stroke technique again. 

8. Try and remove any polish from the skin immediately. It’s always easier cleanup this way. (When polishing my own nails I save my thumbs for last using them as a tool to help fix what is needed!) I’ve also used a tiny Angled make up brush with remover to clean up as well!

9. Topcoat- it adds shine and seals all your hard work in. They make the top coats in matte, glitter, suede and shimmer as well! Fast dry is the way to go with your top coat! 

10. Sit as long as you can, it really takes up to an hour for your polish to be dry! So important!   Finish your Manicure with a cuticle oil and your favorite handcream.
